A Legacy of Faith and Purpose
Our History

In 1990, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church formed a task force to explore starting a Christian school in Elk Grove, California. After a unanimous vote in May 1992, the congregation, aided by volunteer Christian construction group Builders in Christ, broke ground on the project. St. Peter’s Lutheran School opened August 30, 1993, welcoming 108 preschool through fourth grade students. In the 30 years since, the school has grown to approximately 210 students in preschool through eighth grade, continuing to serve the church and broader community.

Our Mission

St. Peter’s Lutheran School provides a way for the congregation to reach out to parents and students in the community. All parents, regardless of church membership, are expected to be actively involved in their children’s education and to support the school’s goals and objectives.

We believe the Christian environment at St. Peter’s will be a powerful witness to those outside the faith, while reinforcing Christian values for families who are already believers. Through a variety of services and activities, the school also aims to be a positive Christian witness to the broader community.
