History

In 1990 the congregation of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church formed a task force to investigate the possibility of establishing a Christian school on their property in Elk Grove, California in order to minister to the needs of the church and the community.

At a congregational dinner in May of 1992, they voted unanimously to start a school. With the help of the Builders in Christ, a group of volunteer Christian construction workers and the congregation, the process of building began. On August 30, 1993, a new school was opened with 108 students in grades preschool through fourth grade. Chapel was opened that morning with the singing of “I Love You Lord” and continued with a message from Pastor Deuel reminding them that they are the light of the world.

In the 30 years since then St. Peter’s Lutheran School has grown to approximately 210 students in preschool through eighth grade. Thanks to the support and dedication of the congregation we have been able to minister to the needs of children in the church and community.
